Samford Leo Club is a younger version of the Samford Lions Club. It is purposely run by young adults for young adults, 12 years of age and over.
Samford Leo Club was chartered in June 2012 with 10 members and is always looking for more eager people to join!
In a nutshell, we basically spend most of our time voluntarily fundraising for a certain group/charity or the club itself, going on outings with other Leo clubs and meeting lots of new people, and of course having a lot of fun!
Each month, we have 1 business meeting where we get together and discuss all general business for that month, talk about future projects and occasionally have some guest speakers. We also have 1 outing a month – this can either be a social gathering between our club/other clubs or a fundraiser, e.g. Soup Kitchen.
The Samford Leo Club is a very fun and exciting way to meet new people in your community as well as helping out others and broadening your horizons along the way!
We are always looking for new members, so if you live in Samford or surrounding suburbs, are 12-18 years of age and want to meet new people then this club is for you! If you or your friends would be interested in joining, please contact us!
Leadership Experience Opportunity
Leo clubs are run and operated by members aged 12-20 years old. Our club is no exception. There are more than 5500 Leo Clubs internationally and a staggering 140 000 members world wide.
The Leo Club of Samford was officially formed on 15th March 2012 and is sponsored by the Samford Lions Club. The first meeting took place 17th March and the second meeting a week later. On Friday 8th June 2012 we were charted and officially became a club. Our Leo Club activities involve regular monthly meetings, service projects and social functions. Our members range from 12-18 years of age. If you are over this age but still wish to join, please shoot us an email as we also have a Leo Club catering for the age group of 18-30 community-minded individuals.

You will gain valuable leadership experience, teamwork experience and skills, problem solving and decision making skills and of course gain self esteem whilst having fun on the way. Joining a Leo club is ideal for young people as it will standout on your CV or resume and potentially help you acquire leadership positions within your school or university. It’s also a great way to meet people who are likeminded to yourself, and get the feeling of volunteering and directly helping the community. By volunteering you will learn firsthand the value and rewards of service. This will not only make you feel good and become a better person, but will also greatly help others.
How OUR Leo club contributes to the Samford Community
Our Leo club is constantly searching for meaningful local organisations to support. We do this by fundraising for our club and then making donations, or by holding large fundraisers in which all the profit goes to a specific organisation/charity. We aim to create a sense of community and enhance development in our local community with our sponsoring Lions club, the Samford Lions.
